St John's Medical College

Library

The Central Library at St. John’s Medical College was initially housed on the first floor of the College building with a huge area that provided for stocking books, back volumes of periodicals and current journals. In March 1987, the library was shifted to a new, separate building named as the Zablocki Learning Centre in March 1987. The Library is open 14 hours during weekdays, 12 hours on Saturdays and 4 hours on Sundays and Hospital working days and College Holidays.

We take pride in our extensive collection of reference books, periodicals, serial publications and unique audio-visual aids and microfilms that expand the learning experience of our students. We have a static IP 2MBPS BSNL internet connection to provide access and download options for RGUHS online journals to our students.

We also provide remote access of content to our post graduate students. Our various collaborations are a testament to the quality of education and resources that our institute imparts. Several leading publishers contribute their new publications gratis to our library and the Student Aid Fund (SAF) has provided close to 300 books for our various courses. We have an MOU with NIMHANS and an active membership with the British Council Library and DELNET which provides our students a wide range of resources.

We run an apprentice training programme in Library Science and provide (Inter Library Loan) ILL service to all neighbor institutions and thus continue to play a vital role as an information Centre for faculty, research scholars and students.
