The College is affiliated to the Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination Board (KSDNEB) and the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, and recognized for the following Diploma, Graduate and Postgraduate degree courses, with the approval of the State Nursing Council of Karnataka and the Indian Nursing Council.

Eligibility for Admission
Subject to change according to the regulations of the Indian Nursing Council (INC), Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), the State Nursing Council of Karnataka, Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination Board (KSDNEB) and the Court decisions.
General Nursing and Midwifery
A candidate seeking admission to this course:
a) Should have passed the two-year Pre-university examination or its equivalent, and have scored not less than 45% of marks in the optional subjects.
Note: Preference will be given to those with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.
b) Should be single and female, and of good health and good moral character.
c) Should have completed 17 years of age. The upper age limit is 28 years.
d) Should have, if Religious Sisters, completed one year after their first religious profession.
Basic B Sc Nursing
A candidate seeking admission to this course:
a) Should have passed the two-year Pre-university examination conducted by the Pre-university Education
Board in the State of Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto by the Rajiv
Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), and have scored not less than 50%s of marks in Physics,
Chemistry, Biology and English.
In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Backward Category, the
marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together in the qualifying examination
should be not less than 40% instead of 50% as above.
b) Should be female, and of good health and good moral character.
c) Should have completed 17 years of age.
d) Should have, if Religious Sisters, completed one year after their first religious profession, and should not be beyond 35 years of age.
Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing
A candidate seeking admission to this course:
a) Should have passed the two-year Pre-university examination conducted by the Pre-university Education Board in the State of Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).
b) Should have done (and successfully completed) the General Nursing & Midwifery course in a recognized School of Nursing, and should possess certificates of the course.
c) Should be registered under the State Nursing Council.
d) Should be a member of the Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI).
e) Should have at least two years experience in a hospital or in Community Health Nursing after completion of the General Nursing & Midwifery course.
f) Should be female, and of good health and good moral character.
g) Should not be above 40 years of age.
A candidate seeking admission to these courses:
a) hould have passed the B.Sc. Nursing degree course of Rajiv Gandhi/Bangalore University or any
of the other universities considered as equivalent thereto by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health
Sciences (RGUHS), and have scored not less than 55% marks in the first attempt at the Basic
B.Sc./Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing examination.
In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes of Karnataka State only,
the marks obtained should be not less than 50%.
b) Should have at least one year’s experience in any clinical area, either in a hospital or
in a community. Preference will be given to those who have at least 6 months of experience in
the area of clinical specialty that the candidate wishes to select for Post Graduation.
Note: In case of Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing graduates, experience after their P.C. B.Sc.
Nursing course is NOT compulsory.
c) Should be registered under the State Nursing Council.
d) Should be female, and of good health and good moral character.
Centres for Entrance ExaminationThe Entrance examination for the Basic B.Sc. Nursing course will be held in Bangalore,
Karnataka State and in Ernakulam, Kerala State. The Entrance examination for all other
courses will be held in Bangalore, Karnataka State.
Note: Candidates for the Basic B.Sc. Nursing course should give in their application
their choice of centre, but subsequent requests for change of centre will not be entertained.
