Heal a Heart Campaign

“Heal a Heart” Campaign
FREE Angioplasty and Stenting

Poor Patients Fund:
The Cardiology Poor Patients Fund was started about 15 years ago, and since then has helped innumerable patients who could not afford therapy including angioplasty, surgery, pacemaker implantation etc. This fund was started to help poor patients who suffer heart attacks, as we observed that heart attacks are not a disease of the rich and tended to affect the rich and poor equally. Indians are known to have heart attacks a decade earlier than others and it often strikes down the family’s breadwinner in his / her prime.

“Heal a Heart” Campaign:
The Department of Cardiology, St John’s Medical College & Hospital, will be conducting a ‘Free Angioplasty Camp’ for 30 economically underprivileged patients from 15th January 2019 onwards. One High Quality Imported Drug Eluting stent will be provided free for every patient). Details of the Campaign are given hereunder;

Patients will be selected based on the following criteria:
1. Patients with known Coronary Artery Disease requiring angioplasty with 1 stent. Patients who require multiple stents may not be enrolled in this.
2. Only poor patients will be considered. The Medical Social Work Department will assist in screening such patients and determine their eligibility.
3. Younger patients and breadwinners will be given preference.
4. Three days bed charge, 1-day CCU stay and basic investigations will also be Free. Additional investigations, if required, will be charged extra.
