Project Description

The National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP), implemented under the aegis of Damian Social Welfare Centre, Dhanbad, Jharkhand, is dedicated to the early detection, timely treatment, prevention of disabilities, and rehabilitation of individuals affected by leprosy. As a voluntary organization, the centre works closely with communities to promote awareness, reduce stigma and discrimination, conduct active case finding, ensure treatment adherence through multidrug therapy (MDT), and facilitate the social and economic inclusion of persons affected by leprosy. The programme supports the Government of India's mission to achieve a leprosy-free society through comprehensive healthcare and community participation.
