Allied health professions have evolved rapidly over recent decades in response to the growing need for a health workforce with the capability to deliver specialized health services in a range of settings. They fulfil necessary roles in the health care system, including assisting, facilitating, and complementing the work of physicians and other health care specialists.

Allied Health Science Courses at St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences, run as a wing of St. John's Medical College and makes use of the infrastructure and the teaching faculty of medical college.

Courses Offered

The allied health science courses were started as one year Diploma course in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) in 1974 with 10 seats a year. The two-year Diploma course in Radiology started in 1985 with 4 seats a year. Degree courses affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) were started in 1999 (B.Sc. in Medical laboratory technology, Medical Imaging technology, Renal Dialysis Technology and Cardiac Perfusion Technology).
