10th World Spinal Cord Injury Day
From Awareness to Impact: A Decade of Progress in SCI Prevention
Spinal Cord Injury Day (SCI Day), observed every year on 5 September, is both a powerful reminder of the challenges faced by people living with spinal cord injury and a renewed call to advance prevention.
The 2026 Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Day theme, “From Awareness to Impact: A Decade of Progress in SCI Prevention,” marks a pivotal moment to reflect on our progress while mobilizing for the future.
Over the past decade, global understanding has shifted dramatically: spinal cord injuries are no longer viewed merely as catastrophic, unchangeable events, but as largely preventable conditions. Yet, heightened awareness is only the starting point.
