Department of Pediatric Surgery Enhances Patient Care with New Medical Equipment

A Blessing Ceremony was conducted in the Department of Pediatric Surgery on 4/11/2026 in the presence of Director Rev. Fr. Jesudoss Rajamanickam, Associate Director of Finance, Rev. Fr. Tony A.J., Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) Dr Varghese, Chief of Nursing Services – Mrs. Oomen was officiated by Rev. Fr. Madalai Muthu (Chaplain). The ceremony was also attended by the representatives from Pediatric Allied Departments.

The department has procured 5 bed weighing scales and 2 vein detectors to enhance patient care and improve clinical efficiency.

The five bed weighing scales, procured from Hindustan Scales, will facilitate accurate weight measurement in children who cannot be mobilized due to illness, postoperative recovery, or trauma. These scales will enable safe and convenient monitoring of weight, an essential component of nutritional assessment, fluid management, and clinical care.

The two Veineux AR-100 vein detectors utilize near-infrared (NIR) technology to enhance the visualization of peripheral veins. These devices will facilitate blood sampling and intravenous access in children and neonates and will also be useful in adults with difficult venous access.

The equipment was procured through the generous financial contribution of IDBI Bank, whose representatives, Mr. Ravikiran Bhagavathula, Koramangala Branch Head, and Mr. Danny Joseph, attended the ceremony.

The Department of Pediatric Surgery extends its sincere gratitude to IDBI Bank and the management of SJNAHS for its generous support and commitment to improving patient care. The new equipment will strengthen the department's ability to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care to children and their families.
