St. John’s congratulates Dr. Johnson Pradeep, Professor and Head, Department of Psychiatry, St. John’s Medical College Hospital, and Division of Mental Health and Neurosciences, SJRI, on being awarded the ICMR Follow-on ANVESHAN Extramural Grant.

The funded project, titled “Effectiveness and Implementation of a Community Health Officer-Delivered Single-Session Problem-Solving Therapy supplemented with Short Digital Video Support for reducing Depression among Individuals with Diabetes and Hypertension in Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Karnataka (eSPOT Study)”, focuses on reducing depression among individuals living with diabetes and hypertension through a community-based intervention.

The project explores the role of Community Health Officers in delivering single-session problem-solving therapy supported by short digital videos, with implementation in Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Karnataka.

This achievement reflects the institution’s commitment to strengthening community-based mental health research and developing approaches that can contribute to accessible mental healthcare.
