The study aims to establish a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to assess nutrient adequacy, determinants, coverage, quality, and compliance of fortified edible oil and milk, thereby enabling evidence-based improvements in fortification programming at national and state levels

Key Responsibilities:
Job summary:
The Biochemist will coordinate laboratory activities including sample processing, biochemical assays, biospecimen storage, quality control, and laboratory documentation.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Prepare and process biological samples (blood, plasma, tissues, etc.) for analysis, and perform a range of biochemical assays such as ELISA, spectrophotometry, chromatography, and nutritional component analysis.
- Handle biochemistry-related tasks and diagnostic instruments with proficiency, ensuring accuracy in sensitivity and specificity evaluations.
- Assist in field surveys, including participant screening, sample collection, processing, and analysis, with a willingness to travel for project-related work.
- Maintain detailed and precise documentation, including lab notebooks and research records, and ensure proper data interpretation under the guidance of senior researchers.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), ethical guidelines, and laboratory safety protocols during all experiments and biological material handling.
- Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, calibration, and functioning of laboratory instruments, along with regular inventory management of reagents and consumables.
- Collate, analyse, and manage nutritional and biochemical data, contributing to research publications and report writing based on study findings.
- Support any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or Principal Investigator (PI) related to the project.
Eligibility Criteria:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related field. AND
- Experience in laboratory-based research, biochemical assays, and instrumentation (ELISA, HPLC, Mass spec, ICP/MS, Roche platforms and hematological autoanalyzer).
Preferred Language: English, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi
