Job Summary:

This project aims to pool and harmonize data from multiple pregnancy cohorts and clinical studies across India to understand gestational weight gain (GWG) patterns among Indian women and their association with maternal, fetal, and neonatal outcomes. The study will evaluate the applicability of existing international GWG standards, identify trajectories of weight gain during pregnancy, and assess their relationship with outcomes such as preterm birth, low birth weight, small-for-gestational-age births, gestational diabetes, and hypertensive disorders. Findings from this large-scale secondary data analysis will contribute to developing evidence-based, India-specific recommendations for monitoring and optimizing gestational weight gain during pregnancy.

Salary : Rs.72,800/- p.m

Key Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a motivated Biostatistician/Research Associate to support a large multi-centre pooled analysis of gestational weight gain (GWG) and maternal-newborn outcomes in India.
  • The role involves data harmonization, management of individual participant data from multiple cohorts, statistical analysis using advanced epidemiological methods, preparation of reports and manuscripts, and collaboration with investigators across institutions. 
  • Candidates should have experience in biostatistics, epidemiology, data analysis using R/Stata, and scientific writing.
  • Prior experience with longitudinal data, mixed-effects models, IPD meta-analysis, or maternal and child health research will be an advantage.
