The project aims to explore various techniques for laboratory diagnosis of Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) from pulmonary and extrapulmonary samples in patients presumptive of tuberculosis. This includes methods for speciation of NTM and their drug resistance. The study findings will help devise a workflow that can be adapted in the diagnostic work-up of such patients and make recommendations to the national TB elimination program.

Salary : Rs.36,400/- p.m

• Assist in the day-to-day implementation and coordination of research and monitoring activities related to the project.
• Carry out participant recruitment, screening, enrolment, informed consent processes, sample collection, sample storage, and data entry in accordance with approved study protocols, ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Perform laboratory procedures related to the project, including but not limited to microscopy/staining, culture, drug susceptibility testing, and PCR-based assays.
• Manage the collection, documentation, storage, transportation, and tracking of study samples between participating sites and referral laboratories, ensuring compliance with biosafety standards, temperature requirements, and quality assurance protocols
• Assist in the planning and conduct of project-related trainings/workshops/CMEs  
• Coordinate with investigators and study teams for SOP development, IEC-related documentation, and timely submission of periodic reports and project deliverables to funding agencies.
• Collect, record, and manage participant data using REDCap and other approved study databases, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
• Assist in the compilation, preliminary analysis, and presentation of study findings using appropriate statistical and data visualization tools

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in MLT / BSc MLT with a minimum of 3 years of lab/research experience  (MSc in Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences or related discipline may also apply)

Experience :Experienced/Fresher

1. Experience in laboratory techniques mentioned in the section of the Job Description
2. Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.

Desirable 

1. 1–2 years of experience in clinical research, public health research, hospital-based studies, participant recruitment, data collection, sample handling, or project coordination.
2. Experience in working with TB-related projects or health care centres. 
3. Experience with REDCap or similar electronic data capture systems, and biological sample handling and management.

Preferred Language: English & Kannada (Essential) Telugu, Tamil and Hindi (Optional)
