The Department of Psychiatry in collaboration with the Distance Education Unit, St. John's Medical College, invites applications for the Basic Certificate Course in Mental Health for Primary Care. 

This online certificate course is specially designed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of primary care physicians in recognizing, managing, and appropriately referring common psychiatric conditions encountered in everyday clinical practice.

Mental health conditions are frequently encountered in primary care settings, yet many remain undiagnosed. This course equips participants with practical, evidence-based approaches to:

• Recognize common psychiatric disorders 
• Develop structured treatment plans suitable for primary care 
• Identify when specialist referral is required 
• Earn a Certificate from St. John's Medical College upon successful completion

• Eligibility: MBBS Degree

Course Requirements

Participants are required to:

• Complete all modules in the prescribed order 
• Watch all module videos before the specified deadline 
• Score 50% or above in all post-test assessments to successfully complete the course.
