Health Data Analysis using JAMOVI & AI Tools

Brief:

Do you find statistical methods confusing or intimidating? This workshop is designed to change that.

The Department of Biostatistics, St. John's Medical College & Research Institute, invites you to a hands on workshop on Health Data Analysis using JAMOVI & AI Tools, built specifically to help clinical researchers, faculty, and medical students truly understand biostatistics, not just run software commands.

Why This Workshop

In research, the software is never the hard part, the thinking is. Far too many researchers run a statistical test without understanding what it actually tests, why that particular method was chosen over another, or what the result truly means for their data and their conclusions. This leads to misapplied tests, misread p values, and conclusions that don't hold up to scrutiny, and in published research, that gap can be costly.

This gap also shows up every time you read a journal article. Without a working understanding of statistical concepts, it becomes difficult to judge whether the methods used were appropriate, whether the reported results genuinely support the authors' conclusions, or whether a study's findings can be trusted and applied in practice. Building this understanding is essential not only for conducting your own research, but for critically reading and evaluating the literature you rely on every day.

This workshop puts statistical understanding first. Before any software is touched, you will learn the underlying logic of each method: what question it answers, when it applies, what its assumptions are, and how to read its results correctly. Strong conceptual grounding in biostatistics is what separates a researcher who merely produces numbers from one who can defend, interpret, and critically evaluate them, whether in their own work or in published articles.

Once the concept is clear, you will see it applied two ways. First, using JAMOVI, a simple, free, menu driven interface (similar to SPSS) that makes running the analysis itself easy and approachable, even with no prior background in statistics or coding. Second, using AI tools, where you simply describe your data and your question in plain language, and the analysis runs for you. No code, no syntax, just a conversation. Together, these make statistics genuinely learnable for every participant, regardless of their technical background.
