A Spirit of Freedom and Service: St. John’s Celebrates Independence Day
St. John’s Medical College and Hospital celebrated India’s Independence Day with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and dignitaries in a solemn celebration of the nation’s 80th Independence Day.
The celebration commenced with a ceremonial march by the security personnel, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings. The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. George D’Souza, Dean, St. John’s Medical College (SJMC), along with other distinguished dignitaries, including Rev. Fr. Jesudoss Rajamanickam, Director, St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences (SJNAHS); Rev. Fr. Ajith Menezes, Associate Director – Hospital & College of Nursing; and Rev. Fr. Ajith Menezes, Associate Director – Medical College & Research Institute.
The celebration brought the St. John’s community together in remembrance of the sacrifices of the nation’s freedom fighters and in reaffirming the values of unity, service, compassion, and commitment to the nation. Students and faculty participated with great enthusiasm, adding to the spirit of patriotism and togetherness.
The occasion served as a meaningful reminder of St. John’s enduring commitment to serving society and contributing to the nation through excellence in healthcare, education, and research.
