Indo-Dutch Innovation Mission - Collaboration Discussion

Brief:

The morning of 23-04-2026 witnessed a collaboration discussion of the Indo-Dutch Innovation Mission. The discussion ran in full swing from 11:30 AM through 1:30 PM at Annex 3 Board room, St. John’s Research Institute, Bengaluru. The internal members of St. John's, the bigwigs from Cytecare Hospitals, Narayana Health, NIMHANS, Mazumdar Shaw Medical Foundation, Philips Health Care, and the Open University, UK, along with the Dutch delegates, actively participated in the discussion.

The meeting commenced with a welcome speech by Rev. Fr. Tony AJ MSFS, Associate Director, SJNAHS. The meeting went on to welcome Dr Tony Raj, Dean, St. John's Research Institute, and his presentation on the history of St. John's and the emergence of its research initiatives. The program transitioned into the presentation by Mr Amit Sharma, Chief Information Officer, Cytecare Hospitals, on hospital operations and incumbent clinical research activities. 

 

The subsequent part of the program saw Dr Pradeep Narayana, Chief Scientific Officer at Narayana Health, outline the hospital's research prototypes, incubation centres, and innovation ecosystems. Dr Raghavendra K, Additional Professor, Department of Neurology, NIMHANS, was the next luminary in line to present the perspectives of the Neurology domain. 

 

Carl Moons, one of the prominent Dutch delegates, went on to discuss the AI Network for Health and Collaboration between the Dutch and St. John's. The address highlighted how the integration of AI across hospitals and patient care systems is evolving relentlessly to revolutionise patient outcomes and experiences. He also pinpointed the innovation in oncology that has become a large-scale juggernaut to address cancer research and convalescence. Carl also revealed his desire to collaborate with St. John's Cancer Network in the near future. 

 

Dr Uma Maheshwari, another luminary, was keen on discussing her work on AI-based sleep analysis and healthcare delivery platforms. The other areas that drew attention were industry collaboration with Philips alongside Cardiovascular Medicine and Perinatology. 

 

Dr Pradeep Johnson, SJNAHS, went on to elaborate on training in Pharmacogenetics. He also delineated the significance of funding and collaboration with Dutch institutions. Dr Pradeep Narayan, Narayana Health, formed another crucial part of the meeting and expressed what it takes to grant acceptance to collaborations across cardiovascular and oncological verticals. 

 

Dr Hari Menon and Dr Madhukar were the two other luminaries who addressed the active crowd by discussing current milestones in Cancer Immunotherapy and expressing their wish to coordinate with the Dutch stalwarts. Dr Madhukar delineated the development of Spectrography and its relevance in modern-day diagnostics and diagnostic accuracy. 

 

The meeting rounded off with Dr Tony Raj expressing his heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their invaluable contributions.
