The Physiotherapy department was started as a part of the Department of Orthopedics in 1998. It was later combined with the Department of PMR as part of the multidisciplinary team in 1999. It has been a long journey since then and at the end of 18 years, it was acknowledged as an autonomous department in December 2016. We have moved ahead by starting the Physiotherapy degree course in the year 2016, under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. We are proud to announce that we are one of the pioneer referral centers for Physiotherapy in the South Zone of India.

Since its inception, the Department is actively involved in catering to the needs of human life from “womb to tomb”.
