Services - Critical Care Medicine


The patients are given care by qualified intensivists, resident doctors and nursing staff . The department follows evidence based protocols to provide quality care at all times to critically ill patients. Patient care is provided by dedicated team of doctors and nurses in shifts and written handover of information is done between physician to physician and nurse to nurse to avoid any miscommunication. The department has monthly scheduled departmental meetings, mortality and morbidity meetings. The patient data are captured at frequent intervals and analysed for ensuring patient safety and improving patient care.

Scheduled routine medical audits are done in various aspects of patient care and protocols are revised and new policies would be implemented.

Our ICU has got state of the art technology that helps us providing high quality patient care. We have dedicated multi parameter monitors, Invasive and Non-invasive ventilators, Infusion pumps, Sequential Compression Devices, Bronchoscopy in ICU, Portable ventilators for in hospital and out of hospital transportation. We have portable X ray, Ultrasound and ECHO machines exclusively for ICU. We have easy access to the operation theatres and radiology suites with PACS- (picture archiving and communication system) installed in the ICU for storage and access to images from multiple modalities. We have three counselling rooms with lots of space and a dedicated classroom for routine academic work for both doctors and nurses. Advanced Cardiac Output monitoring, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) are some of the recent additions.
