Mission
To provide quality tertiary ophthalmic care in a compassionate and dignified manner made within reach to all sections of society without any distinction.

We will strive for excellence in the following areas:
Patient care: Ensuring ophthalmic care which is evidence based, sub-specialty based and state of the art. The department is fully equipped to diagnose and treat all basic and almost all advanced eye disorders. The faculty of the department are all fellowship trained in their area of specialization. Specialty clinics are conducted in the areas of expertiseand they include include: Glaucoma clinic, Retina-surgery Clinic, Cornea and refractive surgery, Neuroophthalmology Clinic, Orbit and Oculoplasty, Retinopathy of Prematurity Clinic, Pediatric visual disability and Rehabilitation and Ocular Trauma. The department also offers community ophthalmology services. Education: by imparting knowledge, skills and attitude to produce competent doctors, both primary care physicians and Ophthalmologists

Research:the faculty in the department have been performing research both basic and clinical, have multiple publications in reputed and peer-reviewed National and International journals that will benefit patient care.
