HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WORKSHOP

  • Hands-on training in Antifungal Susceptibility Testing (AFST)
  • Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) for azole antifungals
  • Training in DNA extraction and PCR setup
  • Demonstration of key fungal diagnostic tests:

                      A. Galactomannan

                       B. Histoplasma Antigen

                       C. Cryptococcal Antigen

                       D. 1,3-β-D-Glucan

  • Demonstration of 50+ fungal isolates, including rare species
  • Hands-on identification and sporulation techniques using conventional methods
  • Demonstration of MALDI-TOF for fungal identification
  • Interactive case-based discussions with Infectious Disease experts
  • Group activity with prize for the winning team – identification of fungal isolates
