Project Nurse II - ICMR SLE TB Project

Job Summary:

Tuberculosis causes significant morbidity and mortality in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). This is mainly related to inherent immune abnormalities in SLE as well as use of Immunosuppressive treatment to control disease. In India, the incidence of TB in SLE is 6 folds as compared to general population. The data on TB prophylaxis in SLE is very scant thus it is not included in current management guidelines for SLE. We wish to study whether tuberculosis prophylaxis in active SLE can prevent TB and improve outcomes of these patients. 

The primary objective is to determine whether a once weekly regimen of tuberculosis prophylaxis using isoniazide and rifapentine for 3 months is superior to placebo in preventing tuberculosis in active SLE.

Salary: Rs.26,000/- p.m

Key Responsibilities:

1- Conduct detailed screening and recruitment of study -participants

 2- Study Implementation & Coordination 

3- Data Management & Quality Control 

4- Sample Collection & Handling

 5- Maintain study logs 

6- Participant Counseling & Retention

Eligibility Criteria:

Preferred Qualifications: Graduate/Diploma in Nursing

Preferred Language: English, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu

Age Limit: 30 Years
