Project Scientist-I(Medical) - BIRAC TB - Cachexia study Project

Job Summary:

A three-arm randomized controlled trial to assess the effectiveness of Omega 3 supplements and Ibuprofen in improving muscle protein fractional synthesis rate among patients with pulmonary TB on Anti tubercular treatment and food supplements against standard of care in South India. The study will focus on anti-inflammatory strategies to overcome cachexia among patients with TB.

Key Responsibilities:

· Coordination and Supervision of the research team 

· Participant recruitment

 · Data-collection and data entry 

· Follow-up of participants

 · Report preparation

 · IEC related work (Submission of AE’s SAE’s)

 · Any other task as necessary

Eligibility Criteria:

Preferred Qualifications: 

• MBBS MD, Preferably Community Health / Family medicine or MBBS
• MPH with research and clinical experience

Preferred Language: English, Kannada
