A pilot study to understand the ethical complexities with CHIM (Controlled Human Infection Model) studies and the need for public engagement
Project Description
The primary objectives of the study include:
- To understand the perceptions of a cross section of the public towards CHIM studies and evaluate the dichotomy in perceptions between researchers and the public
- To develop an understanding of how ‘health risk’ is perceived by different groups of people
- To explore willingness to participate in a CHIM and thus arrive at who can be a volunteer in a CHIM study and tentative criteria for the selection protocols for volunteer recruitment.
