Catholic women pioneers in health care in India
Project Description
Historians of the modern period in Indian medical history often reflect on the contributions of missionaries to health care in India. In this discourse , a poorly covered area is the contribution of catholic medical missionaries. The present project attempts to track the contributions of key catholic women medical missionaries and the impact of their contributions in contemporary health care. The reasons for the lack of discourse on their contributions will also be explored.
