Broad translational theme: Biomarker discovery and validation of blood immune responses following HIV-TB Co-infection
Theme 1: Understanding how HIV infection reactivates TB.
Theme 2: Pathways to modulate and enhance the HIV and TB-specific T cell response in vivo.

Collaborative study with Dr Annapurna Vyakarnam’s lab in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc).
The team from St. John’s Research Institute also actively liaisons with various departments of St. John’s Medical College and Hospital (including Department of Chest Medicine) to identify and enroll study subjects to build a cohort of one, healthcare workers with latent TB and two, patients with HIV-TB co-infection.
