Overview
Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery
The Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery (CTVS) Department at St John’s Medical College Hospital offers comprehensive, evidence-based surgical care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular diseases in both adults and children. With a strong legacy as one of the early centres to provide cardiothoracic services in the state, the department is known for clinical excellence and ethical, patient-centred care.
The department is supported by state-of-the-art operating theatres, a dedicated Cardiothoracic ICU, and a skilled multidisciplinary team. Advanced technologies such as TEE, IABP, and ECMO, along with minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques, enable safe management of complex and high-risk cases.
Committed to inclusive healthcare, the department serves patients from all sections of society, with support from an active Medical Social Service for those in need.
