Overview - Immunology


This department caters to the needs of patients with rheumatologic and immunological disorders. Patients with autoimmune diseases and immunodeficiencies receive care in the department.

The department is actively involved in the management of patients with following diseases
Rheumatoid arthritis
Psoriatic arthritis
Ankylosing spondylitis, Spondyloarthropathy
Systemic lupus erythematosus
Scleroderma
Dermatomyositis/Polymyositis
Several other connective tissue diseases

The prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis is about 1% in the community. Hence rheumatologic diseases are common and the department serves a large number of patients.

Pediatric Immunology and Rheumatology

The department is actively involved in the diagnosis and management of primary immune deficiencies and rheumatologic illnesses of childhood.
